What to drink?

We offer a wide range of 10 or more real ales, locally produced cider and a selection of bottled beers and wines from around the world.

A Good Range Of Beers

All the real ales are drawn straight from the casks in the cellar behind the main bar. We keep six regular ales including Teinworthy Reel Ale, Butcome Bitter, Branscome Own, Hopback Crop Circle and Summer Lightning as well as guest ales such as RCH Pitchfork and Adnams broadside. It is not uncommon for there to be 10 or more real ales available on a Friday night.

Good Local Ciders

Hecks Cider.

The Hecks family has been making cider for six generations, since 1840. The Cider is made by blending juice from apples grown in their own orchards and from other local farms. The favourite cider at the halfway house is the Hecks Kingston Black although others from their range of single variety ciders are also stocked as well as, on occasions, Rodger Wilkins famous cider from Mudgely and Thatcher's Old Rascal tap cider.

Bottled beers

We stock a selection of 20 or more bottled beers from Belgium, Germany, Czechoslovakia and the other high quality beer producing nations of the world.

We also have a large selection of spirits including some fine malt whiskeys and Smirnoff's new Norse vodka. There are a small selection of good house wines, which change on a regular basis depending on customer preferences and recommendations. Of course we also offer a wide range of quality soft drinks including the full range of Pago fruit juices.
